The Child Tech Counties Consortium is a collaborative network of grassroots organizations across Kenya, led by Watoto Watch Network, dedicated to promoting digital inclusion and online safety for children.
Our goal is to ensure all children in Kenya have equitable access to digital technology, empowering and protecting them in the digital age.
We focus on gaining access and distributing digital resources through our network, sharing expertise and best practices, and conducting joint training and capacity-building programs.
The Consortium envisions a Kenya where all children, regardless of their location, socioeconomic status, or ability, have access to safe, inclusive, and empowering digital environments.
To promote equitable access to digital tools, resources, and opportunities while safeguarding children from online risks, enabling them to thrive in a rapidly evolving digital world.
To ensure that the benefits and rights of digital technology are shared equally by ALL children in Kenya.
We also engage in policy discussions and advocacy to influence decisions affecting children’s digital rights and safety, and we advocate for legislation to safeguard their online experiences.
Additionally, we collaborate on initiatives to commemorate national days related to children’s rights and digital literacy. Our activities cover digital literacy, child online protection, data protection, internet connectivity, STEM programs, digital rights, and inclusion.
By working together, we aim to create a safer and more inclusive digital environment where every child in Kenya can thrive.
Digital technology is a transformative force, offering unparalleled opportunities for learning, connection, and innovation. However, the digital divide and online risks disproportionately affect children, particularly those in underserved regions. Child Tech Counties Consortium addresses these challenges by working collaboratively to:
*Close the gap in digital access and education.
*Ensure children’s rights to safety, participation, and development are upheld online.
*Create inclusive digital ecosystems that reflect Kenya’s diverse cultural and geographical landscape.
Call to Action
We invite policymakers, educators, private sector partners, and other stakeholders to join us in this vital mission. Together, we can create a safer, more inclusive digital environment where all Kenyan children can thrive.
