EXPLORING THE BARRIERS HINDERING EFFECTIVE REPORTING OF ONLINE CHILD SAFETY ISSUES IN KENYA

The rapid expansion of internet access has created new opportunities for learning, communication and innovation among children. However, increased connectivity also exposes children to online risks such as cyberbullying, misinformation, online exploitation and harmful digital content.

This research was conducted by Watoto Watch Network in partnership with Africa International Consultancy Services (AICS Consult) to better understand children’s digital experiences and generate evidence-based recommendations to strengthen child online safety in Kenya.

Children today are growing up in an increasingly connected world full of opportunity but also new and evolving risks. Our latest research explores their real online experiences in Kenya, uncovering key insights to help build safer digital spaces.
